The challenge

A web shop for something you don't put in a basket

Leading Car Service is a family-owned chauffeur company in Arlandastad, Sweden. It has been in business since 2004 and has its own fleet of 27 cars and its own chauffeurs. The old website was a WordPress web shop with one product page per car, and it was only in English.

A chauffeured journey is not bought like a product. Customers want to enter a route, choose a car and get a price. The website also had almost no search traffic, so visibility had to be built from scratch – in two languages.

What we did

  1. From WordPress to a coded website with a headless CMS

The website was moved from WordPress to a coded build in Next.js, with Sanity as the CMS. The design was improved, and so was the whole page structure, for users and search engines alike.

The fleet, the services and the copy live in the CMS, so the content is easy to change without touching the code.

  2. A markedly better quote flow

Choosing a car, a route and extra services is now easier for visitors. The flow is split into logical steps so it doesn't feel overwhelming, and Leading Car Service receives every request complete – route, time, car, contact details and any other requests in one place – so it can reply with a price instead of a string of follow-up questions.

The number of requests rose straight after launch.

  3. Two languages, and the words people search for

The website is in English for travellers and in Swedish for local customers. Titles and descriptions were written for every page in both languages, based on keyword research.

  4. News the client publishes itself

The Journal sits in the CMS in both languages. A new car in the fleet or a job worth telling people about becomes a post without a developer's help.

The result

The new website is live at leadingcar.se. Visibility and conversion have already improved markedly, and the ongoing SEO work is now under way.
